Daikin Industries (Thailand) LTD. (hereinafter, DIT) , as Daikin's mother factory in the ASEAN-Oceania region, has led regional product production, product development and technological development for more than 30 years, and currently boasts one of the highest production levels among Daikin's air conditioner factories worldwide.
In recent years, DIT has also accelerated its environmental initiatives. Following the Basic Environmental Policy of the Daikin Group set by the head office (Daikin Industries, Ltd.) in Japan, DIT is working to achieve carbon neutrality by developing various technologies, converting to clean energy, recovering and reclaiming fluorocarbons, and promoting production and service initiatives in the ASEAN-Oceania region. DIT not only develops technologies in-house, but also collaborates with other companies to develop new technological innovations and cooperate with local industries in environmental initiatives.
In terms of technology, in order to improve technological capabilities and motivation in the region, DIT holds regional ‘Technical Olympics’ as ASEAN-Oceania regional hub factory. This leads to chances to participate in the annual global ‘Technical Olympics’ by the head office in Japan, in which engineers from Daikin Group bases and factories around the world compete each other for their cultivated skills. DIT and other countries’ engineers in the region hone their skills every day with the goal of becoming the world's best among Daikin Group.
In addition, employees at other departments such as human resources, general affairs, procurement that support the operation of factory with more than 4,650 employees, work together across the ASEAN-Oceania region in a coordinated manner to share know-how and to raise the standards of the entire region.
DIT will continue to contribute to the ASEAN-Oceania community as a stronger production base by cooperating with academia or government in developing new technologies.
