Daikin supports OVEC skill competition 2024, The 33rd national air conditioning installation skills competition

Daikin’s support continued with the 33rd national air conditioning installation skills competition at Trang Industrial and Community Education College, Trang province, on February 10 - 14, 2025. 15 teams from different educational institutions under Office of the Vocational Education Commission participated. An event called “Daikin Activity Day” was also organized, with Mr. Chalermsak Thongneua-on, Director of Thungsong Technical College, as the opening ceremony’s president. The professional skills competition is an activity that the Office of the Vocational Education Commission supports and organizes annually to support vocational students in applying the knowledge they have gained for practical benefits. Additionally, the activities help enhance skills and provide direct experience for vocational students while they are studying, and they can apply this knowledge to further their careers after graduation.

Mr. Wallop Phungphairoj, Director & Senior General Manager of Daikin Industries (Thailand) Ltd. said “Daikin is very pleased to have the opportunity to support the national air conditioning installation skills competition this year. We support the organization of professional skills competitions in collaboration with the Office of the Vocational Education Commission. The main objective is to promote vocational students' learning air conditioning installation technology and related services, both theoretically and practically. Additionally, they will be able to build on this knowledge after graduation.”

The activities on the Daikin Activity Day are special activities, offered both theoretical learning and hands-on practice in copper and aluminium pipe welding. These are the core skills of air conditioning installation, taught by certified specialists from Daikin Industries, Ltd. Japan to allow participants to apply their experience and techniques learned in the air conditioning installation competition, as well as to further develop and benefit their professional careers.

Additionally, the 2024 pprofessional skills competition included both theoretical and practical competitions, with the assessment criteria based on labour skill standards set by Department of Skill Development. The results of the 33rd national air conditioning installation skills competition 2024 are as follows:

Winner : Mr. Phongsaphat Phongsawat, Nakhon Si Thammarat Navy Commercial College

First runner-up : Mr. Nariphat Chaisalee, Lamphun Technical College

Second runner-up : Mr. Siraphop Pholyeam, Phonthong Industrial and Community Education College

with Mr. Suranan Vichai, Advisor of Daikin Industries (Thailand) Ltd. presenting the award.

Daikin was also honoured by the presence of Mr. Yossapol Wenukoset, Secretary General of Vocational Education Commission at Trang Technical College, Trang province. Mr Wenukoset presented a plaque of appreciation to the sponsors of the event, including the executives of Daikin, led by Mr. Wallop Phungphairoj, Director & Senior General Manager of Daikin Industries (Thailand) Ltd. and Mr. Sittichai Trakarnvorakul, Assistant General Manager of Siam Daikin Sales Co., Ltd, expressing gratitude for their support of the professional skills competition & air conditioning installations this year.
