“Daikin” Supports Thai Vocational Education, Donates Air Conditioners and Training Sets to Advance Refrigeration Skills to International Standards

31 March 2026 – The Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC), in collaboration with Daikin Industries (Thailand) Ltd., is advancing Thai vocational education through a project supporting air conditioning training equipment. The initiative aims to enhance students’ professional skills and prepare them to meet international workforce standards.

In this regard, Mr. Yossapol Wenukoset, Secretary-General of the Vocational Education Commission, assigned Ms. Benjawan Pokpong, Director of the Bureau of Cooperation, to attend the handover ceremony of air conditioners and installation training sets. These were provided by the company to educational institutions under OVEC to support effective teaching and learning, in alignment with current industrial technologies.

During the ceremony, Mr. Tsutomu Kurihara, President of Daikin Industries (Thailand) Ltd., delivered remarks on the objectives of the project and officially handed over the equipment. The event was witnessed by company executives, school administrators, teachers, educational personnel and representatives from the Bureau of Cooperation at Daikin Industries (Thailand) Ltd., Chonburi Province.

In this instance of support, Daikin Industries (Thailand) Ltd., has delivered a total of 42 units of equipment. These have been categorized into 3 main groups as follows:

1. The company provided support in the form of air conditioning units along with practical training kits, totalling 25 sets, to educational institutions under the Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC). These were distributed to enhance students’ hands-on skills at the following institutions: Sisaket Technical College, Trang Industrial and Community Education College, Suphanburi Technical College, Kanchanapisek Technical College (Metropolitan) and Uttaradit Technical College, with 5 sets allocated to each institution.

2. The company supported the 37th Northern Region Air Conditioning Installation Skills Competition for Vocational Certificate (V.C.) students, held in Phitsanulok Province, by providing a total of 7 sets of equipment. This initiative aimed to promote a platform for skills development and to motivate students. The equipment was granted to award-winning institutions and contributors to the competition as follows: Phitsanulok Technical College (2 sets for the first prize and 1 set as the host of the competition venue), Phrae Technical College (1 set for the first runner-up), Uthai Thani Technical College (1 set for the second runner-up), Phichit Technical College (1 set for the third runner-up) and Kamphaeng Phet Technical College (1 set as the host of the competition).

3. The company supported the 34th National Air Conditioning Installation Skills Competition, held in Buriram Province, by providing a total of 10 sets of equipment. This initiative aimed to raise the standards of skilled labour to the national level. The equipment was granted to the award-winning institutions as follows: Rayong Technical College (3 sets for the first prize), Udon Thani Technical College (2 sets for the first runner-up), Phrae Technical College (1 set for the second runner-up) and Vocational Education Network Management and Workforce Development Center (4 sets).

In addition, the participants had the opportunity to visit the company’s production facilities to observe the technology and actual operational processes in the industry firsthand. This provided a valuable opportunity to broaden their perspectives, allowing them to learn and experience modern innovations in the air conditioning industry directly. Such exposure helps enhance practical experience and further develop professional skills in alignment with the future needs of the industrial sector.

This collaboration reflects the private sector’s commitment to supporting vocational education in Thailand, particularly in enhancing skills in air-conditioning technology, which is among the most in-demand professions in both domestic and international labour markets. Such initiatives help strengthen the future workforce’s competitiveness in a sustainable manner.
